Where We Left Off (Poem)
We were young where the willows wept,
In muddy shoes and secrets kept.
You held my dreams with clumsy grace,
A storm of sky behind your face.
Years like trains, they pulled away,
Scattering stars from yesterday.
I chased the world, you stayed and grew—
But always left a space for two.
And now we sit, no need to run,
The river glows with the setting sun.
In silence full of things we knew,
My hand finds home again in you.
