The Rings We Never Bought (Poem)
I found you where the silence grows,
Beneath the sky’s forgiving glow.
No map, no plan, no winding plot—
Just hearts that knew what time forgot.
Your hand found mine without a cue,
As if it always somehow knew.
Two rings we wore, yet never bought—
Worn not by choice, but love once sought.
A silver band on weathered skin,
A black one smooth, the weight within.
No diamonds shone, no vows were said,
Just echoes of the lives we led.
You looked at me with eyes half-sure,
Like something old, but soft and pure.
And though the years may twist and bend,
Some promises outlive the end.
I don’t recall the place or name,
But still, the moment feels the same—
A thousand lives, one final thought:
“Please find the ring you never bought.
